OK, I admit that I am a complete novice & don't know anything, but this seems just plain wrong.

Looks like an OK conversion to me, I've seen some right lash-up 3-wheelers over the years.......

It looks like a trike to me...

It's down to personal taste. I have many friends with trikes of all sorts of styles, although I personally prefer the ones where the wheels are closer to the rear of the bike, with standard bike wheels rather than like that with car wheels/tyres.

Sometimes I think it's a shame they convert these great bikes to trikes. Not so much the CX, but the GS1100 etc

Depends.

I'm not particularly into them myself but if some sort of disability stopped me from riding on two wheels I reckon a bike-engined trike might be the nearest I could get to it and in those circumstances I'd possibly go for it.

I've had a lot of trikes. From ones I have built myself with both car and bike engines to a professionally (read fu**ing expensive) built Goldwing trike.

I love trikes. They are fun in a different way to bikes. It's really more poseur territory. I used to love riding down the highstreet on a Saturday evening with 'The March of the Valkyries' blasting out!

I would have another if I had somewhere to keep it.

I don't mind trikes, some are rather nice, although I don't see the point of this one below, unless like someone else mentioned about having a disability and could not ride with two wheels.

Unless it's purely the act of "sitting on something that looks like a bike" that you enjoy about biking (in which case, you share pretty much nothing in common with what I like about bikes), I don't see the similarities between a bike and a bike-converted trike.

If I was really stuck on 3 wheels, I'd go for something like this:

Rather than taking another vehicle and completely changing how it works, making it significantly worse handling, they've designed it from the off to have decent performance while being (relatively) cheap and fun.
