The issues I was talking about in a different post have come back. I'm sure it's an electrical problem as when it's playing up, it will rev fine on the starter and also will rev in time with the indicators flashing. I think I've found the problem cable.
Can you identify it? I thought it was the HT lead, but that one is arrowed in orange. There is some sort of sleeve on it that slides up and down, revealing what looks like some sort of connector.

And here is pic of that sleeve moved

My bike was playing up last night, and I'm sure electricity was leaking from this cable, as I touched it and got a shock from it. I wiggled it around and then the bike was ok again. I'm going to slide that bit up, and spray on some WD40 and see if it'll get me to work. I'll report back.

If anyone could tell me what this cable is, and...how to fix or replace it, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks all
FJ

I tried to spray a bit of WD40 on this, but I had no joy. On closer inspection, it is a HT lead, but it looks joined by 2 screws welded together.
I took them out and snipped the leads back a bit, but couldn't get the screws back in properly.
Is there a way of joining HT leads?

Edit - Without waiting for a NGK HT lead connector to arrive in the post.

you want an in-line suppressor, car accesorry shops do them (not big chains like halfrauds as i have tryed em), they were used to cut out interferance with the radio from ht leads years ago.
I have 4 in my shed for when i want to lengthen my HT leads next.
hope this helps
