So my tyres are as bold as a porn stars gash and new ones need to be fitted promptly.

I ride a '97 fireblade, as such it has a 16" on the front. It has Dunlop qualifiers on it atm as they were on it when I bought it, can't say I found them anything amazing so won't be going for them again.

Trouble is with that front wheel size it seems my options are very limited. From what I can gather, my choices are:

Pirelli Diablos

SET Metzeler SPORTEC M3

Avon VP2

Generally trying to avoid Bridgestones as I keep reading bad things about them wearing out real quick. Was advised that BT014, BT021 or BT023 would be the only ones to go for, and I can't find a supplier for any of those in my size hence seeking other options.

Anyone got experience with those brands, or can suggest any others I might have missed??

Same scenario for me, I've just gone for Diablos because I know they're good from experience.

Yeah the diablos do seem to get thumbs up across the board, was just trying to get a feel for the other options. Think this is motivation enough to change bikes before next tyre change, on the basis that ill be lucky if i can find anyone supplying my size!!

The Diablos are fine. If you want something more modern and stickier, give the new Bridgestone S20 a go. Will be my next set.

Ah, I paid £171 for a 130/70/16 and a 180/55.

But its £160 with a a 17" front.

Stupid spastic wheels. What mileage are you expecting?

Yeah I was told to expect to pay more for the gay front wheel.

Mileage? Fuck knows, my guy in the garage kept pushing the BT014s, I said I'd read they have shit mileage so wasn't keen, he fires back "I guess you're right, I've only being doing this 25 years, what do I know?" and to be honest I've no reason not to take his word on it, but it's all moot anyway since I couldn't find anyone supplying BT014s in that size.

If I can get 6000 out of them I guess thats about average right?

I was thinking more along the lines of 4000 on my hairnet.

BT014s are wank, wooden, wear before your eyes and give little cold feedback.

I got 3.5k from my Hairnet on Diablo Corsas, 4-6 sounds reasonable on standard diablos depending on your level of hooliganism.

Level of hooliganism is pretty low to be honest, plus I tend to wait till there's about 0.2mm of tread left before I stop being a cheap pikey and get a new set in Laughing
