03 zx6r engine running help

alright guys little head sore here any help would be great
bike is a 03 zx6r b1h model 25k on it.

have a strange running fault which as follows.

1. engine cuts out when coming to stop.
2. running off accelarator it will backfire.
3. constant throttle equals slightly hesitant/splutter


what i have done which has made no diffirence.

1. cleaned bmc air filter
2. fitted new spark plugs checked coil packs everything fine.
3. new engine oil and filter.
4. laser duo tech exhaust completely took apart checked for air leaks all good also legal baffle back in made no diffirence.
5. checked f1 mode for faults shows up nothing in mode 1 and 2.
6. adjusted stock cct no difference.

i dont have a power commander bike is stock bar air filter and exhaust.
any ideas would be great. hope someone has/had same issue.

This all happens when the bikes perfectly straight and upright could this be at fault then mate

based on what you have said and what you have done.. then yes.
The TPS is a sensitive bit of kit.. if it aint set right it wont run right.
backfire = too much or too little fuel
Cuts out = Fuel or ignition circuit
Splutter on constant throttle = fueling or ignition circuit.

I would sort out the TPS first mate and eliminate this.
While i am here.. you say you checked the coils? Did you do this both HOT & cold.? Coils tend to break down when they get hot.This can also give you the symptoms you state. Thumbs Up

Right bud I will get on that checking the tps do you recommend a clean up or new sensor. I checked coils cold I will try hot aswell I will let u know asap thanks for your help.

No problem mate.
Clean it first (its cheaper) make sure you set it correctly.
Then get the readings on your coils.

Any idea how far out they were? 25k isn't a lot of miles and your symptoms were pretty awful, glad it's sorted though Thumbs Up .

Sorry mate I dont know, the garage had it for two months they gave me it back with a oil leak thats turned into a cracked casing now lol bike from hell.

Pretty sure a lot was to do with cam timing aswell if that makes sense lol I know bugger all about engines.
