Just curious really....I have no room for a garage but have found a nice looking 8x6 ft shed..it's wood but I think it'll do the job...

I keep my bikes in a garage, but my main security feature is that there's a much better bike that sits out under a cover at the end of the road. Very Happy

I think the required security will vary sharply depending exactly which part of East Kilbride you're in. You're getting a CBR600, right? You'll definitely want that tucked away somewhere secure and undisclosed.

In the front garden, sometimes back.

I'm going to use that idea though Roger. Buy a bike that is much nicer and more desirable than mine, purely to leave out in the open as a deterrent against thieves having a go at mine. It's bullet proof

If Im not at home, sometimes I ride up the steps and park it in doors to avoid hail

If Im at the pub or eating out, I park it up on the pavement or on the stoep next to where Im sitting so that the darkies dont steal it:

Mine lives outside my house, parked for everyone to see. Usually has a cover on it, unless the weather is going to be nice for a few days, and I'm using the bike every day.

Unless I'm going on holiday, I just use the steering lock.

Living in a nice area is a wonderful thing.

In hallway, almaxed round foldable ladder set, disklock and another chain round the frame.

Soon to have an anchor there aswell, two dogs and a airgun, 18 stone bloke and security light and fake cctv.

Bikes worth about 1200 LOL - but losing it TPO is worth much more than that to me, much more. Thumbs Up Smile

carport behind locked garage door. I couldn't live if I had to leave it outside, both for security and weather protection.

Is bike theft such a big issue in the UK that you are all so concerned about it?

It is rare here. They steal mostly new cars, and usually by hijacking where they shoot you. That way they get the keys and no witness. I have had one 4x4 stolen from a huge shopping mall. Even with a tracking device, they have inside info and quickly remove the tracker.

Funny enough there is no market for stolen bikes. Very few blacks ride bikes, except the delivery boys on 125s. It is rare to hear of someone being hijacked for his bike. Of all the crime and theft we have, bike theft isnt one of them
