Registered on here last year, with the intention of doing my CBT and saving myself a packet on my work commute through the Mersey Tunnels.
Well... It never happened.....A jetski arrived, and I had too much fun with that....And I'm now just coing towards the end of a long and painful set of surgery on my legs (not jetski related Razz )....So it's time to think BIKE again Mr. Green
Slightly different angle this time though. Some time spent with The Llyn Bikers has convinced me that DAS is the way forward....That way, I get to use a bike for the commute AND some fun/ touring etc.
So...plan is...Complete recovery from surgery, get legs strong enough to ride, do DAS (probably going to use AMT in Anglesey)....Then I'm thinking ER6N.

Welcome back!

Jetskis are like water bikes, they should be featured on this forum along with snowmobiles (snow bikes?).

My ski was a Honda Aquatrax R12X. 2 seater, 1235cc Turbocharged running 165 horsepower...It was FUN Mr. Green ....
Surgery and long rehab meant it had to go.....And now I'll struggle to get that kind of budget together again ( A good, powerful used ski is a fair chunk more money than most good, powerful used bikes)....and the 4mpg!!!
So that (combined with the evere rising cost of running my car to work (diesel, tunnel fees, parking charges etc) mean it needs to be bike time

Any thoughts on the ER6N as a 1st bike?
I don't want a race rep/full faired license loser, and quite like the look of either a naked or enduro styled bike.

It is a fine motorcycle and has served me well, just make sure you go for the 2009 onwards models.

For what reasons? Am i correct in thinking some earlier years had frame fracture issues?

Engine mount fractures, exhausts splitting, excessive vibration, plus sickpup has a whole lot of other issues with his high mileage machine.

As he noted, it's very much built to a budget.

Had a visit to Marriots ( Birkenhead) today who were quite helpful.
Had a good look around 2011/12 ER6N's today.....Like it even more now....quite like the Diversion too though.
Will get a better idea when I've got leg fixator off, and I can go sit ob em both

Is there a big difference in fuel efficiency/flexibility between the ER6's parallel twin config, and the 4 cylinder 600 diversion?
