i have a problem with my aprilia rs125 and i don't know what's wrong with it, i have charged the batter and changed the spark plug, the bike was a runner when i bought it and now is not working.
the bike has compression and is ticking over but just wont start. When i changed the spark plug it started up fine and i then when to ride it started pulling away and it cut out and started not yo work again.i managed to get the bike working yesterday but it was going really really slow it was only doing 30 in 3rd gear full throtle but whenm i slowd down and got it back into 1st went to pull away again and then i had the same problem. When i try to start the bike it make a horrible noise and then makes a screaching noise i think it may be a fueling problem but i'm not too sure as i don't know enough about bike to start playing around with bike. If anyone has any advice i would be greatful to hear back from you, thanks. Taylor. Thumbs Up

did you find that when you first got on the bike it seemed to accelerate really really quickly....almost too quick for what it was...the previous owner may have adjusted the air flow into the carb...what colour was the plug when you pulled it out, and have you had a look at the air filter

I am thinking sticky or bunged up carb. Ok when on idle as different jet. As soon as main jet used it isn't fuelling correctly.

remember to take your time the bike is new to you and may have a couple of hidden problems that you have not accounted for...check the air filter more as a precautionary thing ....

Might be worth checking airbox rubbers for any splits or crack while you're at it.

Check the condition of the inlet rubbers whislt you're taking the carb off as well. Thumbs Up
