Was my first time going off road and had even less time on that particular bike. Considering I had only ridden along the street on it and back just to test it was working. Wasn't a bad day did about 20miles there an back and that was the only problem, in my opinion it could of been a lot worse especially as I didn't know how the bike handled at speed.

IF I was going for a bike that would do off road and had my license I would go for the kle500, however never ever go near country side and even less on dirt so would be kind of pointless.

Oh really Rolling Eyes

Who here on this website or in the biking world has made a bad judgment before Question
Misjudged a corner and ended up going too fast into it Question
How many have done it on a new bike Question
How many have dropped their bike from a simple accident Question

Unless everyone is a mythical welding creature that welds under the sea eats fish fingers as well as makes up hilarious stories, then I don't believe I'm the only one.

You learn from your mistakes and I will certainly learn from this one luckily the only thing I broke was an indicator cover, which isn't needed that much anyway lucozade wrapper does the same thing.

This topic will all be gone dead and buried by the end of the week apart from a few people bringing it back up.

Smiler! That was a concrete DRIVE, that was NOT 'off-road', I have ridden more broken up and looser surfaces round frigging town!
TheSmiler wrote:

That is NO excuse. A Bad Work-man!
TheSmiler wrote:

WILL YOU?

WHAT will you learn from it?

You dropped your CBT bike HOW many times?
You came down here and we spent TWO-DAYS, going over CBT 'stuff' like this teaching you to ride 'the-corporal' and you managed to dump THAT twice, before you even bought it off me!
AND in pretty similar circumstances!
And HOW many times did you dump it after?
It did NOT have a bent frame, missing panel-lugs and lock-stop twisted 30 degrees from centre when I sold it to you!
And YES I ama agrieved that I put so much effort into that bike, for you to so fuck it up... but mia-culpa, I probably didn't 'help' you perceviearing going out of my way to keep trying to fix it for you to fuck up some more each time.

BUT... you get ANOTHER bike..... and you SAID

"Yes, but I have learned what I did wrong - I wont make the same mistakes on this bike!"

And here's the evidence LESS than a week fucking later...

YOU ARE!

And spouting BULLSHIT in the chat-room about sliding out on mud, or cow-shit,. and trying to suggest that it would happen to 'any-one'.

NO!

It happened to YOU!

And there was no MUD, no Gravel, no BULLSHIT..... wet leaves, diesel, or crisp-fucking-packets!

You didn't even 'lock-up' over braking.

You rode up, turned in, slowed, took your leg off the peg......

WHY!? How many times did I DRILL into you 'Neat-Feet'?

When moving feet on the pegs - when STOPPED feet on the floor. NOTHING in between!

I EVEN had you PRACTICING that less than a month ago when you came to collect the Corporal FOR FUCKS SAKE!

You KNOW better! You have been TOUGHT

And there you were IGNORING all you have been tought FLAPPING your fucking legs around when moving!

WATCH the VIDEO!

https://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w269/teflons-torque/XX-Forum%20Posts/SMILER.jpg

THEN, STILL moving..... you slap your foot on the floor!

Moving: Feet on PEGS
Stopped: Feet on FLOOR

Is it TOO confusing for you?

Foot, touches Floor, bike still moving... TWIST your body!

Your body TWISTS wrenching the handle-bars to the RIGHT.

SUDDNLY the bike is traveling in a different direction to the way the wheel is pointing - YOU FALL OFF!

- There was NO surface irregularity
- NO lack of grip
- NO excessive braking.

It was plain, simple LACK of control, and doing stuff you have, for over a YEAR been TOUGHT not to do....

No, Smiler, YOU DO NOT LEARN!

THIS IS WHY YOU KEEP FALLING OFF!

Stop making excuses, trying to defend your errors, and spouting bollox.

You KNOW what the problem is; you take it ALL in, you KNOw what to do, but SOON as you are in the saddle, RED MIST takes over!

Now start fucking LEARNING, or get the FUCK off the roads before you hurt some-one..... BADLY!

Most likely YOU!

I said this on chat, & I'll say it to your face.

When you came to get the Corporal, I said THEN that you were an accident waiting to happen. - Looks like you have stopped waiting!

Snowie AND I were both worried for you last August, BUT I made the call, as though I was signing your DL196, and probably the same reasoning as bloke that DID, YES you are a hazard, BUT without getting out and falling off you probably WONT learn.

And you STILL aren't!

Its time to wake up and smell the coffee kid.

Its not the bike. Its not being a learner. ITS YOU.

YOU are the one saying 'learn by mistakes'.... HOW MANY 'mistakes' should we cut you slack for BEFORE you start doing what you say you will & LEARN by them?!?!?

That red-mist is going to kill you, and looking for excuses, or winging, and moaning every-one is being mean and unfair, ISN'T going to get rid of it for you!

You have GOT to get a GRIP in the saddle and put into practice what we KNOW is in your head!

I said, in Chat; when I was teaching you you DID what you were told!

WHY do you do what you are tought when I'm watching you, but NOT when you are on your own?

Do you have to have angry man watching you for your own safety ALL the time?!?!?!?!?

Now, make the connection, RIDE like you TALK, and get rid of this gap made by red-mist!

ONLY you can do it. No-One else can!

TheSmiler wrote:

And SO WILL YOU, unless you take your own advice and start learning from these mistakes!

I think it was more the angle into a difference surface. If you went straight on, it would have been OK.

Also:

Seriously, there's no reason you should ever take your feet off the pegs when moving unless the following:

1: You're showing off or being stupid - deserve to crash
2: You're riding on sheet ice and its sketchy as fuck - debatable but probly shouldnt be doing it to begin with
3: You're properly off-road on a dirt bike and the front end lets go - acceptable
4: You're getting on/off the bike - acceptable

Also, why, when you're not confident on the bike are your mates filming you? That seems like pratting around to me, this, refer to #1.

absolutely no excuse for this if you've been riding more than a couple months, and if you have and you still can't get it right, consider maybe it's not for you (like me and driving cages).

If you thought that surface wasn't suitable or was in any way sketchy, why even try stopping on it? You wouldn't go "hmm that lay-by is very muddy with lots of loose gravel, I think entering it fast and doing an emergency stop is the best bet!" would you? no...

If in doubt, Don't do it! It's that simple

Gotta admit Mike's got you 100% on this mate, if an experienced rider's seen you try plenty of times and says you ain't safe to be on the roads, well, it's just a matter of time before you're underground.

I was starting to think the CB was at fault, that seemed to be the general opinion on the forum, so my apologies for questioning your bike mechanic skills.
Seems its definitely the rider at fault on most likely all previous occasions as well. Smiler not being funny but i think its time you took a step back and ask yourself if biking is really for you.
Its not like ice skating where the most you will end up with is a sprained ankle, if you keep fucking up you could well end up with a serious injury.

Its as though as soon as he's turned, he completely blanks out and starts thinking about everything but how to stop safely.

Sorry fella but its a complete lack of forward planning.
