As per the title...

The seat on my GPz (750) has a bit of metal bolted on where it should clamp under the frame at the petrol tank (plastic clip snapped off), the metal does a good job, the only problem is there is about an inch of a gap above the metal (I'll get a photo tomorrow (well technically today), to show what I mean).

So simple question, should there be a rubber mounting that holds the front of the seat up tight against the frame at the back of the tank?

Not overly sure of the differing dimensions between the original and what you have now, so IMO if it's loose and it bugs you whats the harm in finding a tank rubber from your local breakers and using that?
I'm presuming that the seat is held solidly so this would just be a finishing touch type addition.

The GPz unitrac does not. The plastic hook is quite fat and fits snug.
