Hi everyone,

I'm new here!

I have a peageut v-clic moped which I ride everyday. I always use the electric start, however sometimes it takes a few good attempts for it to actually start.

I was in a massive hurry this morning and put it on it's stand, however it wasn't on properly and ended up falling over sideways and wouldn't start. I could hear the battery trying to start it, but it just sounded like it was failing.

Does anyone recommend what I should do? It's been a good little runner and I've never had to take it to a garage, so preferably I'm looking for something that can be done easily at home.

Thank you all!
Ryan

Time for a new battery by the sounds of it.

well it does sounds like the battery is on the way out. Check you have sufficient fuel first.

Kick it over until it starts. Do that first.

Then we can start the elimination process.

My Dad said he bought a new battery for it whilst I was away - whether he did or not I'm not sure, but before I went away it wouldn't start with the electric start, and as I started using it more it started more regularly.

My fuel tank was almost full when it happened - I had to go to work though so didn't have time to look at whether there was any spillage.

Thanks for your helps guys, will update you when I'm home and have tried starting it!

Carb has probably flooded the engine. Bet it starts once its had time to evaporate the fuel.

You poor deluded fool.

Anyway, yeah, its probably flooded. Leave it a few hours then try kicking it over a few times until it starts.

Charge the battery too. A new battery may have been fitted, but they need charging when new too. Short journeys won't charge it enough, it needs to be on a charger overnight.

My bike had been knocked over by someone in a car while I was at work (they drove away and left it there) and naturally it had leaked some petrol. Needed a bit of encouragement when it came to riding home but turned out fine. Letting it settle for a while should hopefully sort it out.

Thank you everyone! I started in when I got in from work and it started first time - in fact it's starting more easier and smoother since it fell over.

Did you do much in the way of damage? the good thing about the v clic is that the panels are cheap (being rebranded chinese bikes)
