Hey, i was at bathurst today, its a small country townin the middle of nowhere, but once a year they hold the biggest event in Australian motorsport, the V8 Supercars, BATHURST1000,

The roads out there are frikin awesome for riding, Anyway getting to the point, its a v8 race, so of course anyone who owns a V8 Holden or Ford brings it out, Amongst all the rev heads waiting at the entrance i heard the umistakable sound of a BUSA,

When i finally got in i found the Busa with a Kawasaki ZX12R and the new CBR1000, which brought to mind, which one of them is the quickest?

Jay12329 wates for Mr C to shower us with his knowledge.

Just my pov here but does it realy matter which is the quickist? Unless you are dragging, (Mr C) and to do that you will modify your bike anyway, when are you going to use the bikes "speed." On the race track speed isnt what makes a bike better, its the rider. I can overtake blades on my hornet 6, its not cus i'm mega fast its cus they are mega slow.

I, talking statistics wise, lets assume that the same rider rides all 3, ive been told that kawasaki made the ZX12R just to try and beat the BUSA but they failed miserably,

Does any one really care?

If you like the shape/look of the Busa, you go buy that. If you like green bikes, buy the Kwak. If you are a Honda man (and can afford the parts and servicing! Laughing ), you buy the Blade etc etc

Personally?

I'd take the new Blade.

Why?

Because I like Hondas. It's way more than any amount of power I could ever need. It has the smoothest power delivery. It's not avilable in puke green colour. Thumbs Up Very Happy

Why not a Blackbird just out of interest?

Personally I'd get the ZX12R though you could lose your license handy on either of them.

I think, and I am not sure, but Mr C will disagree, the "186mph" restriction on the bikes limits the Busa to an indicated 186mph where as the ZX12R is closer to a true 186mph speed, and he always seems to mention that stock "fresh out of the crate" ZX12R's run better times than stock Busa's.
And the busa is a big and ugly, where as the ZX12R is just.... hot, nearly as hot as the blackbird.

Considering the hayabusa is called the blackbird eater, and a blackbird is a cbr12, isn't it? that makes the busa faster, then the 12r was made to beat the busa and failed i think that leaves the busa the fastest.

By the way, zx10r is just sex on wheels. Twisted Evil

I have never found the fuel injection of a honda to be anything approaching 'smooth' especially compared to a suzuki.

who the hell said the 12r failed to beat the busa out of the crate

only one or two journalists who tried

in the last 4 events we have held to determine just this the zx12r has taken 3 out of 4 of the unmodified races and the 4th was only won by a busa because no-one serious turned up on a 12

the 12 is faster out of the crate and faster with simple mods like pipe and filters

now turbo's ... that is a different question - it is much easier to turbo a buggly because of the airbox arrangement

anyhoo

here's my GPS max speed from today at Elvington

my bike has a pipe and filters on it - the engine is unopened

the next fastest was a 12r

and the next fastest was a 12r with headwork

the next fastest was a turbo busa with 350 bhp

m'lud I rest my case - congratulations, if you think busas are faster then you have been totally taken in by Suzuki's marketing machine Rolling Eyes

oh and I suppose I ought to change my siggy line Wink

I just need to meet up with you one evening now and take a look at the beastie and drool! Laughing

wow, congrats on breaking the 200mph mark.

All i know is that a hayabusa was built to beat a blackbird, then kawasaki tried building the zx12 to beat the BUSA, but from what ive read they failed, You may know by experience the difference and the BUSA is a big bike, for its size it handles well and if you think the BUSA is ugly then you should get your eyes fixed.

I'm a little more interested in the new CBR1000's ive heard they fly, and i know that there quicker then any other 1000 going around.

Im talking about in a straight line, top speed and acceleration?

I think that there's really not that much in it in reality between the Busa and ZX12R. The CBR1000 is a different prospect all together, it's a sports bike built to win races. The other two were built as hypersports to respectively take the fastest production bike crown.

The Blackbird held it first in it's 1100cc guise, followed by the Busa then the ZX12R. The new Blackbird or replacement, probably a 1200cc V5 VFR is out in 2006 and Honda is looking to take the crown back.

Whether this means and end to the 186mph agreement, who knows? It's all a bit irrelevant really.
