Since I've started biking I've seen my two fellow friends crash. Sad Both times they have been ok with damage to the bikes but it really dents my confidence and makes me think twice. It just seems like im destined to crash as everyone i know has. Confused Sad

I used to get this feeling when mountainbiking. The everyone else has fallen off....oh god, Im next! feeling. Its not really the same though as falling off a mountain bike tends to hurt less as you arent going as fast, but the theory is the same. The result: It never really happened. I did fall off but it never followed the pattern of everyone else has so I will. It usually had something to do with how much i was showing off on the day Laughing

Ride within your limits and according to the road conditions and you stand a lot better chance of not coming off.

I've been riding just over 4 years, and on the road I've come off once. That was at about 10mph on ice, completely my own fault because I was going a bit too fast. In that time there have been other 'incidents' that because of the way I was riding havn't become accidents.

In short - Ride like a twat and you'll die.*

I understand what your saying, last week I had three near misses, in each case I would have been in the right, but im sure that would be of little consolation had I come off, is my luck running out?. It does make you wonder, and most everyone I know says its not an if, it's a when.
