Hello All

Spotted those two on bike trader, I think they have quite good price but it might be becuase of mileage, what do you think?
Fazer 1
Fazer 2

Is the mileage to high? I know it is hard to say just from description and pictures. But maybe fazer owners can give hints?

I'm doing my mods on 6th and 13th - so slowy start to look to replace my 125

40,000 miles isn't really that much. I'd have to have a look at the bikes condition though and it does seem a bit pricy. The second one seems fine though. Thumbs Up

The thing with high(ish) mileages nowadays is not so much the engine as all the rest of the running gear. Even if it has been well looked after you could find you are coming to the point where you will need new disks, shocks are tired, lots of bearings are wearing out. Silly things like the cables or even the brake pipes (if original) are nearing their sell by date. Nothing that on it's own would really be a problem but all together could be a sizable outlay.

I'm not for one minute saying that would be a reason not to buy a high mileage bike, just something to be aware of!

Thanks guys for reply

I think both bikes have some service history, so if it comes to that I will ask to look at that to check what was replaced etc. I read that exhaust rot quite quickly, bu on of them has stainless steel by look of it.

Thing is I'm doing my mods in 2 weeks time, and I'm in two minds.
Both bikes are in my price range, not that old but I still don't have a license, but not sure if I will something like this in few weeks time.

Mines just coming up on 38 and i've had it since 23.
On either of them I'd be budgeting the following over the course of this year:
Rebuild rear brake (about £30)
Rebuild front brake calipers (about £50)
M/C rebuild (£30)
Clutch Cable (£18)
Either may be on the edge of chain & sprockets (£90)

There does seem to be a big change in price between foxeyes & square light ones - tbh I'd be getting an older one and save the couple of hundred squids for odds & ends.
