I am just about to insure my bike and have been getting some online quotes.

One of the questions was "Have you had any claims within the last 5 years"

Well I did have a small claim on my car insurance 3 years ago, after some muppet reversed into my car and I got lumbered with blame after he told his insurance I hit the back of him..

Do I need to tell the bike insurance company about a car related claim or not?

I am guessing I do, but if that was the case they should take into account my 9+ years of car NCD...

Yes, you do.

A good reason why to fight such liars in any reasonable way.

Some companies only ask for a maximum of three years for claims.

Some companies do ask about your car no claims.

Thanks guys, the bit which originally threw me was where you add details of the claim there was only options for motorcycle related incidents.

Then at the bottom there was the option for other, so I selected that and a box came up saying "Did this incident involve a motorcycle insurance policy", so I ticked no.

The quote that came back was exactly the same as without the claim added, so that was a result.
