...this was found in my mate's water butt!!! Anyone any ideas? What in the name of all that is holy is something like that doing in this country??! I've told him to contact the Natural History Museum or the Royal Entomological Society to find out what it is. I'll let you know what he finds out!!!

Hornets are, but it looks more like a wasp than a hornet. Plus it's probably swollen form being sat in water.
