I've had a few 2 strokes now and feel confident i know the ins and outs of them. if anything engine wise went wrong i know i could fix it myself, might need some help if it was the gearbox though.

I can drive a 125 soon and although it will be another 2 stroke i'd like to start learning about four strokes. I know very little about them so far. so what's the cheapest and easiest four stroke to work on including purchase price? I will probably just sell once everything's fixed on it so not too worried about performance (not that there is much to be had from a 125)

If you include resale, then any Japanese branded commuter 125. CG, YBR, EN, SR, CM. You'll be limited to whatever actually comes up locally, and 125s are selling strongly at the moment, so you'll need to keep cash to hand and get in quick when one comes up.

I'd go for a CG125 (like I did ) go for one with kick-start, easy to maintain not bad on fuel and with the kick-start you don't have to rely on jump-starting if you your battery dies.

From an ownership point of view, I'd go for a CG, but if I was buying to learn about 4 strokes, I'd go with something like the GS125, as it has a cam chain - you're more likely to run in to one of those on a bigger bike than you are the pushrods of the CG.
