Hello!
I am new to this forum. passed my CBT about a month ago, and rode away on a brand new CPI sprint 125 last Tuesday. It is a stunningly good looking bike and it it's a joy to ride. I am almost half way through the running in process, but at the moment it seems to be using quite a lot of fuel. Is this normal for a bike whilst running in?

Cheers

Jon

What would you call a lot of fuel?
I just got 155 miles from a tank on my new XT while running it in.
If your just running in, you should be getting decent mpg fella. Confused

Thats not good. How much can you get in a tank in terms of money.
Mine holds about £9's worth.

How bigs the tank?

I frequently got 250 miles out of a full (13 litre) tank from my Lexmoto Street 125 and that was doing a 60 mph + commute along A roads every day.

Can't remember exact numbers, but I definitely got a lot more mpg when running in, due to the fact I couldn't go over 5k rpm for the first 500 miles.

So yes, you should get better fuel economy during the running-in period.

15 litre tank, and half does 50 miles, there's something
seriously wrong there.

most 125's can easily get 70+mpg, a little 125 scooter I have does
95mpg, my old YBR done about 110mpg.

you should get 250 or more miles to a 15l tank on a 125..

my GZ marauder runs on £15 for about 2 weeks, when you say a half a tank, how much dyou put in for a half tank?

5 quid lasts me about 4 days to be fair.

My Suzuki GZ Marauder 125 has been filled up four times since I bought it and I have done about 950 miles.

Can't recommend enough getting a fuel calculator app for your phone.
Saves you getting your sums wrong LOL!
I regularly get 100mpg+ on the YBR.

Just to add another comparison...

My CBF is 2 years old on tuesday (Happy birthday dear bike! lol)

It's done 4500 miles in that time and last weekend I put a tenner in it (at £1.32per litre) and it had almost 2 litres in it when I filled up. I did 250 miles and got home with just under quarter of a tank(13l tank according to the manual). that was thrashing the nuts off it doing 70 down the A5 in quite bad wind.

I normally average 320 miles to a tank. (that's from full to cutting out meters away from the petrol station and rolling onto the forecourt (has happened once, been close a few more times than that though!))
