Hey everyone,

Long story short, Mod 2 booked for the 27th (oh just realised it's today) but my CBT ran out.

Waited to see if I could afford and complete my CBT before then.
As it became apparent I couldn't I decided to cancel my test on the 23rd.

They said it falls out of the 3 day refunds date and that the latest I could of cancelled w/ refund was the 22nd!?!?!?!?
A 5 day difference no, 6 if you include the test day as well?

Excluding Sunday - the only day they mention on the website - that should still keep me within right?

Just a piss take, and left broke again to complete a CBT as well as a test.

They use the banker's definition, for much the same reasons (petty minded deception): 3 full working days between the test and the cancellation, not including the test day or the day on which you cancel.

Utter, utter bankers.

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't your MOD1 certificate now also become invalid as your CBT ran out?

i.e you'll now have to do both your CBT and MOD1 again before you can sit mod 2?

I'd have thought that you would have had enough time for cancellations, but as rogerborg says, its working days, which is rubbish.

Agree that definition is harsh and hogswash. The working day is now a moveable feast. Banks are open on Saturday now too (not for the bank's working day definition though!). For the Mod 1 test in York they use a HGV testing centre near Thorpe Arch. The DSA use this for Mod 1 testing on a Sunday Shocked So Sunday for the DSA is a working day.

Of course I suspect arguing that and getting any money back will be nigh on impossible.

Normally I'd be all "Word, dawg", but in this case the DSA almost go out of their way to conceal how much notice you need to give for a cancellation.

You need to be paranoid, suspicious and rocking major OCD to spot it, which is why I did they probably think it's perfectly reasonable.

Logically you would expect each test to supersede the previous so that having the MOD1 is the only requirement for MOD2. I guess that would be too easy.

I thought it was the theory that was only valid whilst your CBT is valid..

You can take a theory test without a CBT.
You only need a Prov Licence.

I hope I can help clarify.

The Mod 1 is valid until your theory runs out.

but you need both the CBT and Theory to sit your mod 1, and then CBT theory and mod 1 to sit your mod 2.

as long as you have time on your theory, you'll only need to sit the CBT again before sitting your mod 2.

at least that's how I always thought it worked.
