Hi all,
So yesterday I passed Mod 2 on my second attempt, feelsgoodman. I was just wondering if I should pass on the good news to my insurance company? I'm sure I remember a thread on here where someone did this and the f*cking jackals actually charged him for becoming fully qualified (and therefore surely less of an insurance risk?)
Thanks,
-Mark

Thanks, and yeah I'm well pleased. Any idea if I'll get away with not telling them or does it void my insurance? My 125 in now up for sale so I'll be taking out a new policy soon anyway. My insurance is through Carole Nash if that helps?

Sadly you'll need to inform them anyway. If you're involved in an incident and your bike is damaged, they could void our policy for non-disclosure, or limit any payout (former most likely).

Fucking bloodsuckers... I've got a buyer coming to look at my bike later, hopefully I'll be able to tell them and cancel my policy in the same breath Very Happy

It was free for me but then I sold the 125 and they wouldn't let me upgrade and switch the insurance over.

Had to lose money on cancellation fees then find another insurer who didn't just do 125's

Whatever you do, it will probably cost ya a few quid, one way or the other!

Entirely depends on the insurer, I was with eBike and they didn't charge (there's very little they do charge for). Any insurer who did try to charge would be told to do one. Tell them if and when you change bikes and not one second before.

Cheers, this is the best course of action I reckon.
I wouldn't mind but I paid for my insurance for the year in full and now reading through the T&Cs I only qualify for a 25% refund upon cancellation despite having 7 months of cover left to run.
I'm definately learning about how insurance works the expensive way!
