The guy makes me sick.

He's basically using his image to make pots of cash, and the worst part is it is all fake. He drives an Aston and makes £££ from his TV series and movie and merchandise and his boring snoreville column in Performance bikes. He pretends that he's just an ordinary fella who works on trucks. That used to be true back in about 2006 but nowadays he's probably a millionaire, and for what? For doing the TT a few times? John McGuinness has won loads of TTs and yet he doesn't have anyone's tongue up his arse. He just gets on with it. Guy Martin likes to make out that he just gets on with it, but its all a façade.

How many people on BCF have grown mutton chops because of him? Admit it?

Marjay, you're looking a distinct shade of green.

If he can make his money doing so, then fair play to him. If it's off fakery then just laugh at the idiots that buy into it. Mutton chops? Are you having a laugh?

Agreed. Hes a petulant fucker and throws his toys out of the pram when it goes wrong. He'll never do as well as JMG until he sorts his attitude out.

To be fair, who will ever do as well as McPint. The guy is a demon round the island.

And i like Guy, yeah he's a bad loser and he lets people know it but so am i, at least he doesn't let shit eat him up. he blows up about it then gets on with it.

And who can say that they would knock back the same opportunities if they were put infront of you?

I like Guy. You seen Closer to the Edge? He was sleeping in a van. I dont get the impression that it was faked.

He was/is a dirty truck monkey who spent all his money on his Aston. He chose not to buy a house, spent the money on a car instead. Any one of you with a mortgage could have done the same.

If he is now rolling in it then good for him, the reason hes got money, if he actually does have any, is because he is a character, in a similar vein to Dibnah. He isnt your typical sunglasses wearing bright white sparkly teeth jelly mould dullard.

So what is he throws his toys out of the pram occasionally, you get what you see, he isnt fake. So what if he hasnt won the TT? What does it matter, he is a fresh personaility, an out and out racer committed to what he loves and he wears his heart on his sleeve.

Hes human, he is likable and I wish him all sucess.

I like Guy Martin and I like John McGuinness, I admire anyone with the balls to ride the TT and do not care if they have made a few bob out of it.

Its not about that, its about the fakeness of it. The fake "I'm an ordinary guy" thing. It has to be fake as he has his own TV show, his own merchandise, his own Aston Martin, and he's not yet even won a TT.

Fair play to him though, I know which 2 I'd pick out of cash, gash and crash.

I'll just re-quote this...I'm sure Annabella might pop in just for a little look too. Wink

I agree, he is a bit easy on the eye. Along with a lot of others: Reuben Xaus, Nicky Hayden, Randy de Puniet...what could be better than a young(ish) fit toned body squeezed into skin tight leathers. Drooling

All racers have merchandise, so that isn't really a consideration.

If someone offered you cash to do a tv show, why not spend it on an Aston? If you're afforded opportunities that let you do stuff you want to do, you'd be a fool not to take them. Doesn't stop you being 'ordinary', whatever the criteria for that is.

He has an engaging character, so 'the masses' have made him their TT hero. It's like an inverse cases stoner situation.

Nice tip, I'm enjoying it. Thumbs Up

I'm surprised Martin's heartrate was so high, but maybe that's just him normally. Very Happy

Danny MacAskill is pretty astonishing, well worth checking out if you were too busy gusset-typing over Guy Martin pictures to actually watch.

He didnt, my understanding is that he bought the Aston some years ago from his grease monkey truck wage well before he was ever on TV. Bought a car rather than a house, just as the vast majority of the population could do.
