Stick up a quote request on www.shiply.com, will take about a day or so to get a quote, but they usually come out about £100-120 which isn't bad.[/url]

I would but I'm 16 so legally can't ride a 125 yet.

Not strictly true, however I take it you are fully abled Wink

So get a mate to pick it up, or wait until you have a cbt, no point having a bike sitting doing nothing, and they are cheaper the later in the year you buy.

Spend money on having a bike delivered that could go on passing your tests. Thinking

Wait until you're 17, get your CBT, ride it home. You're only going to frustrate yourself if you get it before then. You'll end up taking it round the block, with some tart on the back, no helmets, and it'll break down, catch fire and you'll be eaten by badgers. It happens every time.

Dont use a general man & van and if you have to use shitely ask to see insurance profit of vehicle transportation, not Goods in Transit as this doesnt cover moving bikes, I bet you dont get to see it.

SOS recovery charge £150 +vat over 7 days (very profesional but a bit too long) & never used to cover Scotland

There are now quite a few van men that solely move bikes about the country these are the ones to go for, purpose built ramps (not some old scaffold plank) and front wheel stays, I do know of one that is regularly all over the country for £100 +vat with exception of the extremes of the country, he has a lot of regulars and moves classic bikes all over, If you want his name PM me

I would advise to stay well clear of Shiply.

I booked a collection through them. They took a £29.99 fee and a £24.93 deposit for the courier.

No collection, no communication, refund refused. They even kept the couriers deposit as well.

What sort of company will not return payment for a service never delivered?

A very greedy company with contempt for its customers.

You could always hire a small van.

Not sure what the prices are like in your area, but they start at around £35 per day around here. Then all you pay on top is the cost of Diesel and a few beers for your dad or mate for driving it. Wink

That's why you wait until the Dark Nights are in then go around the Shiply place with a van full of 1/2 bricks.

I considered using a courier via Shiply for my bikes dellivery. The funny thing is I couldn't trust a courier with my new baby Never thought the robbing fuckers of the equation are the agents who set it up.

I hope you gave the bastarts a ton of grief over this?

Take it apart and bring it home piece by piece. By the time you have transfered all the pieces and managed to put it back together you will be old enough to do your cbt. Voila!

You could try using Anyvan? www.anyvan.com

They are a bidding site for courier jobs. Basically you post what needs moving and where to and the couriers and men with vans bid on the job so you get the best price!

I have used them a few times and their service is exemplary as well as cheap! You can search through their current jobs and get a rough idea of cost, plus it's free listing! Thumbs Up
