FZ1 thoughts and value

Hi all. me again on the trail of something with a bit more clout than the ZZR6.
Tried the GSX1400 Suzi last week, mate bought it from under my nose but I was not too bothered, a bit unwiedy for me. (Plenty power, cant fault that aspect of them)

Anyhoo. I have learnt of a Yamaha FZ1, the original version with tube frame, thats coming on the market. I know these of old, a friend had one that was easiy the match of the old 'blade I had at the time. Trouble is, I cant seem to find a valuation on the things.
E-bay has a few of the later ones for circa £3- 3500, but non of the first edition.
Anyone have a valuation on a really good condition one, less than 20000 miles, kappa rack and bagster tank cover. The press reckons they are not the most popular machine out there, can't understand that as they are a well put together bike.

my mate sold his earlier this year, after asking £3k for it for ages he sold it while on holiday on it in france to a local

pretty much as you describe, 20k miles etc but had ohlins fork internals and ivans jet kit, was worth at least £2500 but I think him lucky to get £3k

You're searching for the wrong thing, that's probably why you're not finding them on egay. The gen 1 is the FZS1000, not FZ1. You can pick up a decent one for around 2.5K private.
