Wow! I can't believe that's a zed! What a total change from the old ones.

Looks quite cheeky. . . .but that's wasted on me as i am slightly sad and really loved the look of the older ones.

But don't listen to me i've got a GT which i love to bits, despite it being the slightly fugly little brother of the zeds. Wink

Have you had a test ride? What's it like?

I dont like the look of the Speed Triple. I dont really like Kawasaki's in general either but this one's got me thinking.. I was on a 2010 R1 not 3months ago that was stolen, I'm all for the acquired taste.

They're aimed at different markets. The R1 is an out and out sports bike whereas the Z1000, while very capable, has a degree of comfort and is far softer by comparison.

There are plenty of expert reviews about on both bikes but the best way to know what bike you want is to try them out first. I know which one I'd prefer but my back ain't what it used to be...

Oh, as someone said above, have you considered the Speed Triple?

Actually, I couldn't agree more. There was just no need for them. The rest of the bike looks awesome, but why model the headlights on Dame Edna Everage's glasses?

If I bought one I'd stick the old headlights on.

Wow, wow, wow Shocked

Beautiful machine. I don't even mind the Wall-E lights. I'd consider getting one but my arse is too used to the fat touring seat on the Diavel.

I've not been impressed with the look of the new lights on the street/speeds, but now you've pointed out the similarity to Edna's glasses I'm going to be giggling myself stupid every time I see one from now on!

Very Happy

These modern bikes are far too angular and similar looking for my tastes...give me a good old fashioned retro style bike any day. Cool

Its got a fireblade lump in it slightly de-tuned, gets there quicker, go and have a test ride on the Z1000 and the CB1000R, see what you think, cant comment on the Z on how it rides although some one said its more like your sitting in it than on it, but i do like the look of it. As for the CB its a awesome bike, mines a 2010 just done over 12000 miles on it never missed a beat, but then it is a Honda, anything you want to know about it, let me know, good luck
