Hi all
So who's been?
I posted a while ago that I won 2 return tickets with Virgin which I'm going to use to go to Barbados.
At the moment I need some advice on which hotel.
Room only for £500pp (South coast) https://www.bougainvillearesort.com/
All inclusive for £900pp (West coast) https://www.mangobaybarbados.com/en/welcome.php
The reason I ask is because usually on holiday I like to eat out rather than at the hotel but not sure on how expensive it is to eat out?
We would be saving £800 going room only which can be used to eat out but is it expensive? Also got to think about drinks throughout the day etc.
If you have any experiences, please share ____________________ Rides: Honda XR 125 ('03) Honda CBR 600F ('91), Ducati 916 Biposto ('95) |

went for a month a couple of years ago - was very nice, beautiful place really. Surprised me the differences in lifestyles over there - it was either massive mansion type house or literally a tin hut on the side of the road, didn't seem to be a happy medium.
We went fishing for a day on a catamaran - fcuking thing sunk.
As for Hotels - personally, i'd opt for the cheaper hotel, and spend the difference on trips out etc - we Hired a mini moke and spent a week or so just driving round, did a load of day trips too - went offroading, scuba diving etc

problem with the south coast is its very touristy and busy. that said on the friday nights it is good to go down to the fish fry and get some grub/listen to the music.
west coast is lovely quiet and a bit more local. holetown is perfectly situated for access to some lovely quiet beaches. as well as the marine park for a good snorkel
used to go every year as my mates parents lived there. they actually had a restaurant in holetown. unfortunately the recession hit hard and they lost it so they moved back to canada
such a shame, they'd not long had a new house built on the north west. superb place and just up the road from port st. charles. great to sit on a beach on your own and watch the odd yacht go by.
things id recommend.
fish fry
marine park snorkelling
catamaran tour - has to be cool runnings if they're still there. awesome fun
caves on east coast (little bay as well)
concorde museum is good at the airport if you're bored one day.
such a nice place. everyones so relaxed out there.
watch out for bus drivers though.. they're mental ____________________ CBR954RR - Daily toy

I stayed at the Accra Beach Hotel in 1994 in 1995 it was demolished and the Accra Beach you stayed in was built and opened in 1996 and the price went up by a third, so the next time I went it was at St Lawrence opposite the Ship Inn. |

Thanks for all the replies and nice pics Ol, might avoid the catamarans
Cheers for the info Supz, I'll make sure I check them out, heard a lot about the fish fry.
We are quite familiar with the annoying sellers, get that pretty much anywhere now
Chose the South Coast in the end here:

So roll on October!
Few friends going Magaluf for a week in September but I'm running out of holiday days fast! Also haven't heard much good from there lol ____________________ Rides: Honda XR 125 ('03) Honda CBR 600F ('91), Ducati 916 Biposto ('95) |
