A speed camera too fast... Have not receaved anything yet but saw two flashes in my wing mirror when exiting a dark tunnel... Brick Wall

So, I presume to be doing slighly over the speed limit, probably about 35 in the 30, what will become of my licence, a restricted A2?

I have 6 points max for two years as im on probation, will this put me half way towards that or worse?

How long will the points stay with me? 2 years or 4?

Is this likly to increase insurance quotes?

Urgh, so anoyed.... 5 days is all it took!

Thanks, Scootaloo

You might be lucky enough to be offered a speed awareness course.

From what I read it is excruciatingly patronizing and boring and will set you back in the region of £120, but if you do it you will escape with no points on your licence.

If you do get points, it will put you half way towards your 6 points. If you collect 3 more within your 2 year probation, you will lose your licence.

I think that points from an SP30 last for 3 years, so you'll have to be extra careful.

Insurance quotes, you can never be sure. I think Paddy's insurance is actually cheaper with points. Laughing

heh, insurance is hella random...

Oh well, suppose I better just stick to the speed limits from now on religiously, but there's always a chance I can get unlucky so If I can take the course, I will... bloody government, blackmail me into £120 unessential course. Blah!

Thanks for the reply.

If the camera you set off was in the Limehouse Tunnel heading towards London I wouldn't bother. I've set that off three times in the car and have yet to face punishment. If not then feel free to ignore. Very Happy

Lots of camera, particularly on the A2 flash but have no film or are not monitoring.

It was in last camera in the Limehouse Tunnel except heading out of London Laughing

Just as your about to exit so the light from outside makes it almost impossible to see the lines on the floor.

Nothing to worry about until and unless you receive a NIP / Section 172 - but ride strictly to the limit for at least the next 2 weeks. Very Happy
