You do the u turn on the mod 1.
The mod 2 is just about your riding, no manouvres.

And if you mean during mod 1, then (although memory is fading) I believe the answer is no.

You should treat the test centre as a road, which means looking around for imaginary traffic, but you're not required to pretend that you see any, or to signal for their theoretical benefit.

I guess if you end up going down a dead end accidently, then you will have to do one yes, which requires naturally the same proceedure as MOD1 and no feet on the ground etc!

I actually did it on my test - I turned into a wrong road (a dead end) during the independent riding part. The examiner told me to make a U-turn and said I should not worry about feet down etc. as long as I do it safely - so I stopped, looked around, indicated, looked again and slowly U-turned. Not even a minor, as I managed to do all these manoeuvres correctly.

That's gppd news!! Thumbs Up

You do not indicate when carrying out a u turn, or when pulling away from the kerb.

Reason - you indicate if it would be of benefit to other road users. With both those manuevers there would be no other vehicles in sight or you wouldn't do it. Wink

You'll get a minor not indicating from the side off the road surely

No you will not get a minor. I used to teach people how to ride for a full time job...

You would not carry out a u turn if any other vehicle was in sight so no need to indicate.

You should not move away from the kerb with any vehicle in sight behind you so no need to indicate.

If you want to indicate moving away then go for it but it's just another signal to remember to cancel. Sail past a junction with it on and game over!
