cbr 125 problems

i ride daily all weathers
tonight on the way home i lost power at slow speeds the bike would idle ok at lights then as i wound on it cuts out
further on the way home it backfired and now cuts out when ever i try to wind on
do i need a carb clean?

carb clean sounds a good option also check for air leaks around the carb manifold
