I'd suggest that getting a cheaper chain will result in more regular changes... usually resulting in a false economy of spending more in the long run.

I'd stick with DID given the choice

DID or Tsubaki is all my local bike mechanic will fit and both of my bikes came with DID.

I tried a cheap IRIS on the cg and the rate it was stretching with the mighty 11bhp thumping away at it was worrying, I would never fit one to a more powerful machine.

I've done over a quarter of a million miles using DID X ring chains and been very happy with their longevity and reliability.

When I start adjusting them regularly (usually 40k miles plus) it's time to get a new one. Up till that point I just chuck a little oil on the inside run when they look dry and check the tension weekly to confirm it hasn't stretched.
