Hi all,

I'm thinking of getting a 2nd bike and am looking for recommendations.
I currently ride a ZX6R which is great.

I'm looking for something a little less sporty and a little more 'off roady' - not that I'll particularly be using it heavily off road.

I'm looking for something to use on the muddy tracks that pass for roads near me and the occasional commute to work if I don't fancy using the Kwak. Possibly a winter Hack too.

I'm not too worried about power as long as it is above 125cc and would want to budget less than £1000 to buy it - cheaper the better really (without throwing the cash away on a wreck).

Any recommendations?

cheers

John

I will be selling my CRM250 soon if you want some two stroke goodness in your life. It's mad as a box of frogs...much quicker than my old XT350 although for a two stroke it has a lot of low down power and is happy to pootle along on greenlanes...

I expect it'll be £1000 or less...need to check how much they go for at the moment.

It's a good all rounder, decent off road and on road. DR350 is another good bet as said above if you'd rather have something a little less manic but I'd try to get an electric start one.

Word of warning...old greenlaners are massively overpriced. Whilst £1000 will get you a decent condition roadbike it's banger territory for most greenlaners in my experience, particularly the smaller 4 strokes (400cc or less). You'll get something usable but it'll be tatty. My CRM is probably the worst condition bike of my 3 but it was the most expensive to buy.
