Anyone wanna go and see it?

I've been meaning to go for the last years, but haven't got around to it so far.

It's a 3 hour (apparantly) endure held on Weston supermare beach.
I believe they can get upto one thousand entrants, who race over a 4 miles course.
Should be a good laugh: but bring a change of clothes if you plan to get near the action Smile.

Expect to see stuff like this:

and this:
https://www.btinternet.com/~Andrew.Janet/brheada.jpg

(Click the above for a few other pics).

It's in, erm, Weston Super Mare Razz: a bit south of the severn bridge.

Go for it Jay, would be worth it for comedy value, although it may take you a while to remove sand from various orifices (on the bike). Laughing

I used to live just outside Weston and went to the races many times. It's a really good laugh and I'd certainly be up for going down there again Smile
Be waned though, Weston can be bloody cold in October, so take some warm stuff to wear! Shocked

A few pictures, more to come;
The big straight

What goes up, most come down

... and up again

Weston's version of 'burms'

Close spectating

Some more berm technique

Then you got to get out of them

And again, but with more style

A little hot?

Actually a very fast corner!

Obligatory journey home pic

Love the way he has done all that preparation and left the tax disk on.

All the best

Plenty of people still had lights connected and some had number plates on!

Plenty of spare beach for mini bikes, by the way korn Smile... and you coulda ridden them around the spectator bits as well! Might have even blagged a quick go on the course when they'd finished... though some of the berms/puddles were deeper than your x-sport Smile.

Get your entrace forms sorted for next year Wink Smile.

If only had some money... would be very tempted to go and buy a cheap (proper) 250 2st mx and find somewhere to play Smile.
Looked a lot of fun (if a little knackering)... and was great to watch as well.

No little bikes, but we missed the 'junior' race that was first... some of the big bikes were disapearing into big holes, so I doubt they would have found little'uns again.

Complete range of bikes, from CR125s to big road 4 strokes (saw a KLR600... and worryingly think I saw a KLR650! Confused). At one point we saw someone who was having trouble getting up a hill.. then could start their bike. He ended up getting the marshall to kick it for him... the marshall then rode it the rest of the way up (with some assisting pulls) and gave it back to him Smile.

So, basically, just take whatever you got lying around at the time Smile.

Bugger, looks like I missed some fun Sad

After driving through this most of the day yesterday I really didn't have much faith in the weather for today. Plus I woke up late. Plus I was knackered. Plus the mini bike has bald tyres anyway. Plus there's always next year.

[/excuses]
