Hopefully if I get the name of it/what it does I can find it on eBay, so hopefully my phone will let me upload a pic.

This as I mentioned in an earlier thread is on my gsxr 600 srad, x reg.

It was connected to a black box with 4 red vent things with a big airfilter in and fed off to two smaller tubes that both went to two small cylinder things that look like the old picture camera film holder things, or like one of those big circular batteries.

Help please guys!
Regards
Flemy

Looks like a breather hose

https://www.ronayers.com/Fiche/TypeID/26/Type/AIR_CLEANER/MakeID/2/Make/Suzuki/YearID/40/Year/1999/ModelID/6153/Model/GSX-R600/GroupID/248678/Group/AIR_CLEANER

Am I correct in thinking it is part 13 on the above picture?

P number: 13855-34E50 - called a "TUBE CONTROL AI"

Go to a Suzuki dealership and buy a new one.

Thats what i was going to post. But a split in a breather hose wouldnt stop the bike starting. Thats why i was wondering if it was the carb diaphragm equalising pipe.

Part 8 appears to be the breather, I have no idea what part 13 does but it looks very much like the hose in the picture.

Can't you just lop an inch off the pipe and refit it or does it get pulled too tight?

That's what I did but its really brittle like an old elastic band, sorry about all the similies, just easier to help explain stuff and yeah, it is pulled v.tight now.

27 euros including postage!

Doesn't seem to be anything on ebay either. Probably better off looking for a breaker.

Could you not do a decent bodge using some tubing of the same diameter, some internal metal pipe that fits snugly inside and two circlips or cable ties around each join? Seeing as it's only tubing. Just cut the original back to where it's good beforehand. A bit ghetto for Gixxer junkies, but 27 Euros sounds insane.

Erm... Gaffa tape anyone?

Would at least rule it out as the cause of the lack of start or whatever (haven't really read the thread fully)
