Just thought I'd clear something up for some of the whipper snappers at the weekends festivities.
My avatar is not me sometime in the last century, it's the late, great, William Joseph "Joey" Dunlop.
The "Joey" on the leathers was a give away, I thought.

I don't really know any current racers either, except I sort of recognise some names like Stoner, Pedrosa, Rossi - but the first time I even saw the TT was this years one a few weeks ago!! I'm a n00b to this whole biking lark.

Suntan, I need to thank you very much for allowing me to snaffle some of the absolutely lovely brandy drink you had...was lush...

I need to get myself a bottle...is it a Cypriot special?? Or can it be bought abroad in Europe??

Clanger, it was a bottle of seven star Metaxa, a Greek Brandy.

I'm pretty certain you can buy it in the UK, although I suspect it will cost a bit more than the 13 euros that I paid for it, it even came with two free brandy glasses, .

It comes in 3, 5 and 7 star varieties, the 3 &5 star ones are good for mixing, or in coffee, but as you said, the 7 star is very smooth and fruity, so it's worth paying a little bit more.

As an added bonus, I finished the bottle off and didn't even have the whiff of hangover in the morning.

If you buy a bottle you'll be helping the Greeks pay off their national debt.
