Still having issues.
I have recently taken my NSR125RR apart to derestrict. Or so I thought. Its performance was ok...around 80 top end and 0-60 in about 12. Ok for a beginner. But now I want more!!!!!
I took the carb off to find no intake restrictor (which I was most unimpressed with) and am yet to take the exhaust off to have a wee look to see if there is a restrictor in there. Since putting it back together she is running like crap. Stuttering through the revs especially just beofre 8000rpm when the "power band" kicks in. She was carefully put back together so I dont understand what is causing this! Any ideas.......?
From a few articles I have read I am lead to beleave that UK bikes (which mine is) do not have CDI restricted units....but surely with no restrictor in the intake I should see greater performance than that of a restricted bike? How much difference does the exhaust restrictor actually make?
Just incase that the myths are true.....does anyone know where I can get a unrestricted CDI unit for a 95-96 NSR125RR??
Does anyone konw of a place in the South west where I can get her tuned?
Please help or suggest
A rather stuck and confused

UK bikes are not restricted in the CDI at all.
How fast does it go currently and how long roughly is the 0-60?
Did you follow the guides on www.nsr125.com exactly and it looked exactly like the photos of the bike after the restrictor had been removed? |

yup, followed to the letter. There was no restrictor plate like the one in the photos. Still getting a 0-60 of about 11 seconds. She is deffinately a UK bike so I dont know whats going on........stuck in a rut. I will take the exhaust off tonight to see if there is a restrictor there and I hope there is. Otherwise I am out of ideas..... |
