Well the other day I was fiddling with the bike check idle and giving it the once over with the WD 40 and check it fired up which it did 1st kick,

needed to go out on it an hour later all stuff on and key in choke on and kick no go second third and forth kick still no go Evil or Very Mad

plug out and slightly wet dryed and swaped and then put it on engine to check spark no spark, checked carb settings all fine, literally takes a min to remove carb on kh100.

really confused and walked away before I kicked it and then noticed the kill switch turned to off Embarassed first proper motorbike and never had a kill switch, 1st kick load of smoke from unburnt petrol and off I go feeling a numpty,

Wait till you accidentally knock it whilst riding. That will cause a head-scratching session, believe me.

the killswitch game is brilliant if you're with a mate, just wait until they're not looking, and gently knock their killswitch. Watch them struggle to understand why their bike wont start Smile

Could be worse. I can think of a member on here whose sparkplug somehow magically re-gapped itself to zero. I personally am not sure how it happened, but it was insanely amusing watching him trying to bump start a bike that couldn't fire.

I got a call from the chap I swapped my 125 to: bloody bike won't start, you only rode it in yesterday, how's it gone wrong overnight...?

30 seconds of "Is there any chance you've..." questioning later, the sound of a mighty Chinese pushrod roaring into life could be heard. Wink

Yeah, eventually. It's small consolation when you've just pushed your missus' 200kg bike home up a very steep, long hill. I was seeing spots before my eyes by the time I got home and I'd sat down for less than 10 seconds when the words "kill switch" entered my brain.

Haha that happened to me with an immobiliser.
Never had one before so I got confused with this new piece of magnificent technology and actually went through the trouble
of getting the bike to garage only to find out that I didn't push that little bloody button on the key to turn it off...
I honestly thought that fuel injection was fucked Laughing
-they didn't charge me for keeping the bike overnight by the way-

The feeling of shame (and stupidity) was immense... Embarassed
I bet these guys are laughing inside every time they see me Laughing

Never had a kill switch moment, but did get pissed with my bike and stomp around it for half an hour groling and grumbling wondering why it would not start one cold morning. No life in it at all. Wasnt untill I spent 2 hours commuting by train and bus instead of a 30 minute ride I rememberd I had put the battery on charge the night before.... Doh... Laughing

I once managed to hit my kill switch in the middle of a junction I was crossing. Wasn't going very fast at the time so it managed to stop dead centre, and all the traffic around me had to stop too. I tried starting it as you do, without success. Then I had to put the stand down, dismount and wheel it across the junction and pull up at the side of the road while trying to work it out.

Didn't take long to realise but them embarrassment was sky high. Embarassed

Yeah, really funny, sat at a junction ready to pull out and the clever sod leans over and hits the kill-switch... Laughing

I've had em in burkhas diving for cover when they've been on the receiving end of my straight-through artillery piece backfires.
