so i've been riding without breakdown cover and was wondering whats a good cheap roadside repair company? RAC? AA? greenflag?

who's the best for the least?

i was off down a NSL dual carriageway and realized my fuel filter is pissing out fuel when i had to pull in to ask directions (thank fuck i have a satnav on its way, sick of getting lost lol), it had to wait till i got home, lost like 1/2 of fuel over the 40 mile round trip.

i knew i'd just put a full tank in before setting out but it definatly got me thinking about roadside assistance cover

i have the aa, not the cheapest (altho your first year is reasonable, mine was free with the bike for 3 years) but i have used them just once and this was after an accident when my bike was totally knackered, i would suggest you just go with one of the big names (aa), they have the biggest presence and largest fleet!

The AA (and indeed, many main players) don't cover accidents.

I recommend AutoAid as the value for money is by far the best available (NB: It's a pay and claim scheme - you need means to pay at the roadside i.e. cards!). It literally covers everything you'll ever need, and the nature of it means any arguments can be had over the following days and weeks, rather than while stranded at the roadside and paying £££/min to talk to a phone monkey using your mobile.

I use Green Flag. I've never had to call them out, but my housemate has a temperamental little Ford Ka and has had plenty of dealings with them. They've always seemed to get the job done. Thumbs Up

About to sort some out now and have used the same system for a few years now.

Join Quidco or topcashback etc. https://www.quidco.com/home/

Costs a fiver a year out of what you earn

Join the AA thru them £30 for named vehicle or £42 for personal cover, so you are covered as driver/rider/passenger of any vehicle.

Quidco give you £21 cashback so costs from £9 a year .

Then the following year I don't renew but I switch to the RAC and get much the same cashback deal again, then alternate from year to year.

Simples

Best mention cover must be paid up front (no instalments)

Higher cashback for higher levels of cover, I think you can get the full monty cover (whole family anywhere any vehicle) for about £50 after cashback

RAC only costs me £7 a month, and they've always been pretty god, in my experience.
