Hi Guys/Girl

I',m looking for someone that 'd be able to fabricate a custom swing arm for me. I'm trying to get a 200 - 300 wheel in on the back of my GSX-R1100 '97 and could do with some help and suggestions on this. Also anyone know where I'd be able to get a Spindle Rod that'd be strong enough to be used for the above?

Thanks In Advance...

there is absolutly no way that you could do a 300 width tyre with in the gixxer frame with out a jack shaft, or with out seriously modifying the frame,
a mate of mine did this

its now twin turbo'd.. and funnily enough for sale at the moment,

search google for yantosh gsxr,

that required serious frame mods,

Jim Knopf from germany did the jack shaft route on his gs500

with out the ability to do the mods your self, its pretty much inconceivable to get a 300 tyre on, 200 may be,
unless you have stupid amounts of money of course,
if you do then just buy yantoshs gsxr,
job done

I thought we'd established that stupidly wide tyres ruin a bike for the purposes of riding?

Or are you just wanting a 'show' bike?

Single sided swing arm!!??? Hmmm, I'm guessing thats a car rim on the back end then? How much is your mate selling that for?

I have a guy that's sure he'd be able to fit a 200/220 rear on, but a modified swing arm may be required.

I can't hep with who could do this for you, but I'd bet anything that someone capable of fabricating a swingarm could also knock up a suitable axle for you as well.

You could fit a 200/220 and use an offset sprocket but would probably have to shave the frame. To fit a 300 section tyre you would have to space the sprocket out by 5-7cm which would need an outrigger bearing to support the extended shaft/offset sprocket and complete removal of the left hand frame rail in the area that supports the swing arm so you would also need an extended swing arm and an offset replacement frame rail welded in. Getting a bit complex now isn't it.
