This is a tad random and maybe noobie question but do the 2 overhead cams on my cbr6, are they always both working or does the 2nd open at a certain rpm to save fuel?[/list]

Both work together.

One is the intake cam, opening the valves to allow the fuel/air mix into the cylinder, and the other is the exhaust cam that opens the exhaust valves to allow the used gases to escape.
