go view whet will be the latest addition to my family
I've been looking into owning one for a couple of years but I had a dog that was getting on a bit
and had health issues I decided to wait

I Put a £100 deposit down on a silver Bengal cat
it has its first set of injections and will have the next set before I pick him up in two weeks
I already have two other cats so it will be interesting to see how they react to there new brother
as I know there very active cats and like to interact and play

my other cats are Molly (female) and a bit of a loner and doesn't like Marley (female) younger and more energetic
with a bit of a scatty nature that loves climbing doors etc (as do Bengals)
so I hope that Marley will be Ok with the new addition and give her a friend to play with
both Molly & Marley are dressed so no issue with the new boy trying to do his sisters LOL

the breeder has a few Bengals & rag dolls and they seem to get on Ok
inc my kittens mum & dad
I know a few on here have Bengals, whats your experience esp with other cats ??
or any useful info from experience (being male do they spray etc)

anyway 2 crappy mobile pic's I tool today he's 10 weeks
mother was a silver father was a golden, he has a hint of gold down his spine
but you can't see it in the pic

Oh havn't informed the Mrs yet Twisted Evil Gonna get my balls chewed (not in a nice way) for this one Mr. Green

Bengals are not like your average moggy
they sound and act different to other cats, most have a fondness for water to the point of going into showers or even baths
they are very agile and acrobatic (more so than other cat breeds)

£400 is about the average price if your lucky enough to get a chance to buy one
esp from a good breeder that is not throwing them out the door just to make money

There where wild Bengal cats roaming the streets of Lefkada when I was on holiday there at the start of the month. Was quite funny as the two we saw knew exactly how and when to ask for food at restaurants.

If I get a cat I'd be very tempted, but for £400 I am not so sure!

Real cats do not ask for food they steal it.

I never knew you could buy a cat. I always thought they were free.

Even when I bought my border collie pup, the farmer was trying to give me a free kitten.

I prefer dogs myself but then I am a bloke.

my kittens dad is an outdoor cat and I was told he's an excellent mouser
and he looked like it, had that killer instinct in his eyes, though last I seen him as I left
he was chasing 2 peacock's about the garden

cat's only need feeding when they can't be bothered killing it, that I don't mind
but the Mrs gets pissed when our current cats drag various birds & rodents into our living room in various stages of being alive
for our approval

had to take a starling from Marley last week, kill it & bin it as having a bird with half its head chewed off flying in your livingroom is a bit off putting
though Marley was pissed at me for taking her new toy from her

As a father and a grandfather who has watched every Disney film ever I can assure you the two stuck up Siamese cats (we are siamese if you please) were in 'Lady & the Tramp' and not the Aristocats. Wink

I love the look of the Bengals, but not their hunting habits - decimate the wildlife and are not happy stopping indoors. I know two families that have had them and struggled to keep tabs on them, as they disappear off hunting for days! I'd be too stressed by that Embarassed

I went for the British Shorthair, as they're big fluffy lumps and as mine have 'bells on collars' I've yet to have any wriggly presents! I've always been a dog person, but have to say I'm very fond of the cattens, but I think it's because they are quite 'dog like' in their personalities. They even come when they are called and rarely go very far from the house/garden and one is stretched out over my feet at the moment!! Mr. Green

I can't be doing with any breeds of any animal. Traits are fixed through motherfucking, I find it a bit peculiar to reward that. Mongrels and moggies have that hybrid vigour thing going for them.

I didn't even realise there were so many different cat breeds. oldpink, can you do a popular UK cat breed list! I am looking for a pet, I had chickens and a dog unfortunately I wouldn't be able to walk 1 hour a day, but a cat I have been looking on Gumtree LOL.

400 quid sounds a lot but I guess they are actually fairly wild right?

there are hundreds spices of cats
like dog's that come from wolf's you have your big cats we all know of
bengal cats were bred from Asian leopard cats and domestic cats
similar to a wolverine (wolf x German shepherd cross)

in saying that they are domestic cats just a bit more active and curious
I didn't pay for my other cats they were from friends cats having kittens
but like my love for German shepherds I have a similar feeling for Bengal's
so don't mind paying for a specific breed in this case

Roger
its like my love of snakes
you can have a python or Boa etc but they are specific spices with unique traits
moggys are just inbreeding of subspecies with no control (bit like chav's)
