So i sold this exhaust i was going to fit on my bike but didnt bother in the end. Sold it as collection and cash on collection, it was fine when i sold it, not a problem.
Well he has contacted my saying the baffles are loose and clattering. Simply not true, it didnt rattle when i had it, so he must have damaged it.
We have both already left positive feedback, and as i said he paid cash on collection so there is no paypal transaction there.
What happens now, can he even make a claim?

i guess i could always just claim he never paid for it, as i never even marked it as payment received either.
He was a right rude cunt when he rang up, saying 'well you knew what you were doing didnt you' implying i missold it on purpose.

I would, just to spite the cunt, if i knew it was ok, rather lose cash than let some cunt take the piss.

Other options aswell of course. Like tell him to fuckoff, like when he implyed you knew.

They will refund him, reply to case asking for return via himself or recorded post.

My advice would be to not post this in GENERAL BIKE CHAT as it's not General Bike Chat.

If yourn gonna pull the old never paid when he did, then you better be prepared and or equiped for trouble. Even if you are, and dont mind being a cunt like the buyer, he can do things that you cant stop.

Vandalising etc. or worse,

No he can't.

He collected the goods, so has inspected them.

In any case, as it's a private sale, the principle "let the buyer beware" is in force.

Im pretty sure ebay doesnt touch these kind of cases where the item is collected. Btw, the fact that the item was 'sold as seen' helps in no way. If you described it as working perfectly then thats all the care about Wink

No he cant covdude, like someone said, ebay is just gonna help themselves to my money on the assumption that the buyer has returned the item first? Ebay doesnt even have proof that the buyer has the item or has paid for it.
The guy was a short arse with denim shorts on and a squeaky voice, i wish i kept his voicemails to upload on here, he basically begged me to call him to arrange for him to pick it up, obviously has nothing better to do with his life.
Anyway its an open case and im sure he will escalate it to a claim, which im sure i will win.

Either way, update this thread then. Idea

Btw, I tend to list items with offers, and cash deal most welcome.

Then I give them my email address written in a pm without the dots and at, tell them to include the missing dots etc.

Then I arrange with them .. Even direct PayPal sales.

This means you sell stuff, and end the listing, they have no eBay rights then and no fees. Thumbs Up

How do you know it didn't rattle when you had it if you didn't fit it to a bike? Maybe it only rattles with the resonation caused when the engines running?

just rang Ebay customer support, spoke to what sounded like a well fit American girl.
She said she is almost certain i will win the case as nearly all cash on collection cases are won by the seller, as ebay buyers protection is not covered for cash on collection deals, only through paypal.

Remove you paypal account for the time being

Also, the guy is probably trying to return you his old broken exhaust and get a refund, so he gets the new exhaust for free.
