 |
|
Yo,
Ive just ordered a speedfight 100cc, get it next week, well up for it. Cant be dealing with any of this bike/scooter rivalry, its all 2 wheels right? C'mon! So what can I expect, good and bad? The bike has so much going for it on paper, im really interested in hearing from anyone who is actually riding the bike, especially the 100cc. Ive been on a 50cc for a year (im 30!) and now im getting this (reverse adolesance.. my old man should have let me have one when I was 16!). Im not planning on gettin a shell suit and gold chain just yet, but what about the bike? Is it everything it looks?

You have to run them in for the first 1000km and dont open the throttle up all the way to much during this time as it can make it feel sluggish once its broken in and watch the oil level too and dont just wait for the red oil warning light to come on just check it yourself every now and then and top up as required to avoid seizing the engine.
As for modding the engine, well i wouldnt as every modded speedfight ive seen has endedd with the engine siezed. But hey its your bike! ENJOY! |

Best not use the steering lock either as they are easy to break and can do lots of damage when someone tries to nick it. Just get a decent chain and lock it to something.
Dave
Pic of my old bike for you, looks a bit grainy as the film was sat on my desk for over 2 years before I had the film processed!

Dont know whether looks are important but the Peugeot Vivacity is identical apart from styling, that comes with an immobilizer (which worked very well) and a boa lock (which works well when you remember to use it). Check if the Speedfight comes with these as they are definitely worth it.
They do about 55-60 as mentioned. Good fun if slightly skittish (guess your used to that though). |

hey,
i own a speedfight 100cc (x-race blue/orange) and it is so much fun to ride.
Does about 75-100 mpg depending on how hard you ride it. Without any customisation done to it, it will reach speeds of just over 60 MPH. Get's to 30 MPH quickly but after that acceleration is slower...
But its sure is one cool little sc00t. Well it was best sellar for like 2 years in a row as well
go for it |

Well I have got it at last! And by christ its fun! I havent (darent after being used to a hondy city express 50cc) pushed it full throttle, and of course Im still running it in (well some of the time maybe ) , but god it gets to 50mph quick. Im looking at 70mpg on my first 80km recorded today, top speed must be 60 at least as it hit 50 with loads of room to spare. (your 50top speed bike must have been clogged or something). My only gripes are..
- My lid only fits in under the seat (just), and the lock mechanism looks pretty flimsy, but it does work
- Using the boa lock is like wrestling a snake. its a complete git to fix on a post and unfix. Im hoping the lock will loosen up soon (they did oil it all).
but.. its nice and light so can be wheelied up a step, and you can lift the back end up (if you store it in a garden where you have to go up a couple of steps)
Its really quick.. the acceleration is amazing
Lights are very bright
has a nicer raw zaust note than a 50cc
comfortable (although slightly weird angle seat)
thats about it.
