Possibly due to the high theft risk associated with this type of bike.

I think I'm right in saying that due to the way the risk is calculated, even if you're quoting for TPO (i.e. no theft insurance), a bike with a high theft risk is generally more expensive to insure than an otherwise identical bike with a low theft risk.

EDIT: Just seen "CG125-BRK (seized and crushed)" in your sig. Was that for lack of insurance? If you've got an IN10 conviction on your licence, then that might be partly to blame for high insurance quotes.

TPO insurance still has to cover a bike being nicked, then the thief crashing in to someone. So even for TPO, expect a premium to be charged.

I know it takes the piss!!

Can't get a quote of under £400 on my KTM, never use it on the road either but I like to keep my no claims going and the peace of mind that if, god forbid the garage ever caught fire or it was nicked by scum.

I see no point having theft cover on an enduro is it has a value under 2 grand. Insurance for my exc 250 is about £120 a year

My KDX is on a multi-bike policy with the Cat; added about £30 for the year (TPFT).
