hello again all, how old u need to be for yamaha r6? i just paid out 3,350 odd pound for an 04 aprilia rs125 but should i have just brought an r6 and asked the guys down at the shop to have put a restrictor kit on it? becuase i think u can do it

(i just wounder if i have the recpite lol)

You need to be 17 and have passed your restricted test.

The R6 needs to have a 33bhp restrictor kit fitted.

You need to have passed your A2 bike licence, so you have to be 17 with a full licence.

fuck a duck i am very happy now i could get one i am 18 i have a cbt, i failed my test twice! but feel confident now! get rid of that aprilia and have a r6 Very Happy there is one near me for sale i could get about 3,000 grand for my bike save till i get another few grand and im in the ride of my dreams

how possible u think it would really be? and would the bike be very cool to ride? with only 33bhp?

My R6 was restricted for about a week or so.. it felt okay to be honest, still got up to 100 ish without too much hassle and ran okay, some bikes don't like restriction at all but the R6 was suprisingly okay with it...

Much better full power though Mr. Green

Not reccomened as first bike as WHEN you drop it, it will be very expensive... but that goes for your stupidly price new 125 Razz

You cant ride that bike with only a CBT.


You need to pass your test first, then you can ride it with a 33bhp restrictor.

well i will pass my test first but when i went down to the dealer, he said to me, "you do know u could buy an r6 for that sort of money" and i was like show me the aprilia rs125! now i start to look back, maybe was a mistake!!! the r6 is so nice looking good handling so they say! i'll have to see, i still love my apriliars125, but it isnt a bike for life!!! espaically when u have to warm it up in the moring before u ride it, thats what makes me late for work lol

R6 does handle well but it is very twitchy, IMO I wouldn't reccomend it to those with little experience as I find it twitchy, might just be my suspension set up though.. I've got used to it and learnt how to ride "around" the twitchyness, but the VTR1000F firestorm I test rode held it's line through corners a LOT better than my R6 does.. (the storm had sorted suspension tho...)

No offence, but yes I do think you'd be a timewaster as you've just bought the aprilia and don't have a licence.

I'm after about £3500 as it has some light scratches to RHS fairing.

It was up for sale previously without the scratches at £4250

If I don't sell it this winter then next summer I'm going to stick in biketrader for £4000..

Only 7000 miles
