Right I've been buying gear so i can get into biking, already got my CBT in the bag so no trolling on me please.
I bought/ordered all my gear on the same day. All have arrived except for the bloody almax chain/padlock which i ordered last month on the 25th. They have taken my £120 from my account including £8 for shipping, ridiculous. They also haven't replied to none of my email(S!)

Just wondering if any has faced similar problems?

Yeah they can be. I ordered a chain+lock+ground anchor. They said they were waiting on the ground anchor and took a few calls to get the chain+lock in the end.

I would ring them directly. Have the invoice/order number ready.

What's the issue? It's only been 1 week? Neutral They're not a huge company, give them another week atleast!

Are you having a laugh? It's a chain, they're heavy. It'll be sent by courier, so ofcourse it's going to be more than a couple of quid for postage by royalfail.

Patience grasshopper.

Well the OP's post was today on the 1st August, so I'd take last month to be July, not June? Laughing Unless OP forgot we're now in August.

Just wanted to avoid the don't buy any gear until you learn how to ride and complete your cbt post.
no excuses tbh, don't care if they are big or small. They sold services they should deliver!

quote from their site

"Orders placed by 1200 Noon (12 pm) will usually be dispatched the same day for Delivery Next Working Day by our couriers. ie: Monday to Thursday your order should arrive the following day. Friday orders are dispatched for Monday delivery. Bank Holidays no dispatches or deliveries are made. This is dependant upon stock levels. If you would like to telephone us to check the stock levels we will be happy to help.

Our delivery charge is £7.95 per order."

Fair point, but I'd still give them a phone call before slagging them off. How can a company be expected to fix the problem before they are made aware of it? It is a bit pants that they haven't responded to your email, but that just means that it may not have been read, so the above still applies; Give them a chance to rectify the problem.

I would normally argue the point that you've paid for next day delivery, but lost out on the benefit of this by the item being posted out late. I find alot of retailers will happily refund the postage costs in this situation to keep you happy.

Remember, always be polite and understanding. No one likes to deal with an asshole, even if you are in the right.

Note: Not saying you are being an asshole, just that you should make sure you're polite if/when you do manage to make contact with them.

ebay has caused this.

I ordered it yesterday at 1pm and it didn't arrive today, Evil or Very Mad NEGATIVE Evil or Very Mad

Mail order can take up to 21 days, royal mail don't say things are late until 15 days and you are most likely not the only person to have ordered last week so it could take a couple of days to get it picked, packed and sent out.

No bike but you need a lock for it by yesterday, at the latest.

Almax are very good to talk to and have great products, but they seemed like a small family type company when I spoke to them a few times in the past.

The vast majority of couriers work on next working day and thats exactly what Almax claim.

It doesn't take a couple of days to pick and pack a chain, they aren't Amazon.

They're a little company that are crap at processing and dispatching orders and their communication sucks. I experienced the exact same thing.

Just give them a ring. Dont just wait, they've probably lost the post it note with your order on it and if you wait you'll never get your order.

6 of one, half a dozen of the other - but you're right.

Size is irrelevent, if they offer a sameday/week service they're obligated to deliver.

Also, Almax aren't 'small' as a brand goes, although they might have a small operation.

Chill out OP, moaning won't get it to you any quicker and it's not like you need it now.

They shouldn't be charging him until they've allocated his stock. They promise next day delivery. So while the solution is to call them, OP is bang within his rights to have a good old moan. Why? Because...

Everyone expects to get everything instantly nowadays Rolling Eyes Go back to the 1970s and anything you mail ordered had an 'allow 30 days for delivery' clause.

Yes Almax aren't fast, but the product is worth the wait. When mine arrived the invoice had 'sorry for the delay' hand written on it.

If the area is that bad you best have something pretty solid to chain it to too! What bike out of interest?

Called them basically they told me they took my money but haven't done anything else because of the Olympics, this didn't stop amazon/ghostbikes delivery's.
The guy on the phone then went on to tell me that my chain would be to small "Almax Immobiliser Series III + Squire SS65CS Stronghold Lock", that i would have to pay another £35 from a chain suitable for a bicycle to a chain suitable for a chain suitable for a motorbike. :S.

Anyway guy said he would call me back.

In fairness mine (Motrax not Almax) is 1.5 meters and is useless unless you can get the wheel within 6 inches of whatever you want to chain it to. I would recommend 2 meters.

To think i could get a oxford XL chain/padlock for £70 across the road. Are they any good, may have to cancel my almax order if it goes pass a certain date. As the seller of my mototrcycle will only hold the bike for a week, if it surpasses a week he will take my deposit.

To be honest I would stick with the Almax, based on the well known youtube video and also various reviews they are generally considered the best.
