Heh, we know, see General Chat. It's just another HG sale, the stuff won't really be any cheaper than it was last week.

Couldn't Trading Standards actually prosecute/fine them distributing a missleading Ad, if true, about their UK section gone into Administration which is different from the usual 'Closing Down for Refit!'.

So you're in the same boat I am mate, I started working for Northampton store on the first of july and I'm loving it, to think we could end up closing is a real kick in the nuts!

as for the trading standards thing, as it stands, legally we are closing down! if we then find an investor before the company ends up in liquidation we will re-open under new management so to speak, so technically (and legally) we are closing down.

Fingers crossed we find an investor, I'd hate to loose the best and most fun job I've ever had!

Afaik, the UK side of HG isn't owned by ze Germans, its just a sister company so one option may be that they get bought by Fritz, possibly along with a UK based accessories company.

If you purchase what you think might be a bargain in the forthcoming 'fire sale', then you have no warranty for assurance.

Make sure any purchase is done on a credit card & is above £100 !

This is not entirely true and I can only speak for some of the product ranges they sell (and not for their own brand kit).

But, they were a major customer of my company and any of the brands they sell that we distribute will be covered by full warranty still.

We usually get end users to sort out their warranty issues with the store as they can serve the customer better (can replace items same day using store stock for example). Then the store will sort the issue with us after, when the customer already has what they want and are happy.
In situations where one of our dealers cannot help the end user (they go into liquidation for example) then we will happily handle any warranty issues. It helps if the customer has a receipt to show date of purchase but in my experience we have still helped end users whatever the situation to the best of our ability.

Thumbs Up

You're a distributer who supplies HG, if I buy a product from HG's 'firesale' next week, how do I know that YOU are the people to turn to if my purchase fails within a reasonable time?

Is all your contact info going to be stuck on my purchase? Will you actively promote yourself as my post sale point of contact & customer service?

Is all your contact info going to be stuck on my purchase?

For the products we make, yes, most definitely, our company name is emblazoned all over the product and packaging.

Thumbs Up
