Care to share some details? Like what scooter, and which service? (How many miles/years?)

Will then be able to advise from my certified (aprillia, sym, peugeot) scooter mechanic!

Apparently the standard service should be about £50 (2 hours). However, at this mileage it will probably need parts too, so it depends on what has worn out.

Anything you think might be obviously wrong with it?

I got mine serviced at a standard mechanics place for £25. Piaggio Typhoon 50. 14,000 miles.
