just wondering what your opinions are on buying a second hand jacket ?

obviously i wouldn't buy a second hand helmet but provided they are in ok condition is buying a second hand jacket a good idea ?

The jacket in question is a Frank Thomas thats going for £15 inc postage with under a day left.

If it's in good condition - it's fine.

I've got leather trousers with protection built into the knee & hip, these were 2nd hand too. Not fussed as they'll offer better protection if I go down the road than my jeans or combats will give me. Better to have it and never use it than vice versa I think. Wink

Go for it.
Watch out though. I was looking at some before which had tears and the seams where coming undone. Something like that would just rip open in a crash.

Of course they are, and good on you for even considering it.

Of course, you can get mashed up just as badly on a pushbike, so it's a judgement call. Don't get mashed up at all is the best solution.
