As you may or may not know, in Northern Ireland Learners and people who have passed thier test for under a year are by law enforced not to exceed 45mph. There was me coming home from my driving lesson about 15 miles away and I called in to get some petrol. Pulled back onto the dual carriageway and give it a bit of a clean out since it seems to choke up from hardly passing 40 for 4 hours. I was approaching 70 then blue lights came on behind me. "Nice having a license the last 3 months" I thought. I got a bollocking and he was telling me I had been clocked at 66mph with the L plate up, about half the speed again of what I'm supposed to be doing. He says he'd let me off this time but next time my licence will be thrown straight into the bin. I was very fortunate to not be given 3 points so I think I'll be slowing down a bit for a year or two.

Lucky man, they probaly pulled ya because you were doing over 60 though, which can only be done on the motorway, the cops in larne see me doing well over 45 but i ain't ever been pulled for it.

Anyways sounds like you got pulled by a couple of bored cops seeing as the P.S.N.I is so undermanned according to them (but really they all just pissed because the R.U.C. cash cow is gone and all the bent coppers are getting the boot Thumbs Up ) i'm surprised they had the time.

Funny enough it was the Larne dual carriageway I got pulled on. I'd likely have been alright if I hadn't put her to the red in every gear.

Worst thing was you wouldn't of had a clue. One peeler in an unmarked mondeo from traffic branch. It's a hard road to keep at 50 on. Do you still have the R's up?
