Has anyone done this before?
I was riding today when someone coming the opposite way went past on a nice bike, didnt catch what brand it was but it looked awesome.
So out of boredom/spur of the moment i did a u turn and followed him, he went down some good country lanes i never go down myself. Did this for a while until i had to get back home so i broke off from him and went a different way.
I bet he was well confused, it was fun for me though as i was taking corners at his speed thus improving my confidence/skills in cornering.
Anyone else done this before?

You shouldn't really be trying to match someone else's speed and cornering abilities. That could be asking for trouble.

P.S. Would I stalk someone on my bike? No.

I've done this a few time's nothing out of the ordinary though Thumbs Up

Don't try and match his speed, he may have 10 year's riding experience under his belt where as you might only have a couple, also he could just be a complete nut and not care

Don't want to be the one that's nagging all the time but safety first

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Lol, why not indeed, brings you to new places and that's always fun... I wouldn't mind if someone followed me, as long as it is someone on a nice bike Laughing

Not actually turned around before, Overtaken a car to catch up with another biker so I could see how quickly he was riding, turned out he was going much quicker than I was willing to at the time so very quickily dropped back.

If I catch up with or am overtaken by another bike I might be tempted to match their pace.

Would I turn around and follow them?... No.

Nothing wrong with it, I do this all the time and it can be fun.

I passed a bloke on a Ducati 916 recently and being a fan of these bikes I turned around and set off in pursuit. He was going at a fair lick so I was struggling to keep up but we ended up going along for at least 20 minutes and I found some good roads. After a while he headed back into town and I stayed behind him admiring the V twin rumble. Eventually he got home and put the bike away in his garage and I parked up the street then climbed a fence to get into his back garden. He was obviously sweaty from the ride so he peeled off his leathers and jumped into the shower whilst I climbed a tree and watched him lather himself. His wife was cooking dinner at this point so I got down from the tree and hid in a bush so I had a view into the kitchen and living room. They ate their dinner then just watched TV for the rest of the evening so I decided to just go and rummage through his bins for a while to pass the time as I couldn't see what they were watching. When they went to bed I climbed into the house through the unlocked kitchen window, crept upstairs and then once I was sure they were asleep, slid into bed between them and had a good nights sleep. In the morning I woke before them then crept out and stole a pair of underpants off the line and headed home.

It's an excellent way to find new riding roads you might never have discovered Thumbs Up

I do this every time i get the chance.

There's been a few times someone's came up behind me, and i've led them round some twisties, different speeds etc and they manage to keep up fine. it's nice to have someone to play with.

There's also been a few times i've came up someone's arse, and when they realise, they gun it and have a little play. quite enjoyable when you get people like this.

I wouldn't watch someone go the other way, u-turn and follow them, keeping up with them. 1, it's creepy and i don't think i'd be happy if someone decided they would like to stick to my arse out of the blue. If i looked in my mirror and saw a bike turning in the road then catching up to me i'd imediately think that it's the rozzers. to be honest, i'd probably slow right down and let them go past.

As others have said, turning around to follow is kinda creepy Shocked. If I'm bombing along and a bike comes up behind, I'll endeavour to let them pass. If they've caught up, they're going faster! Also means I can have a little play and see how much faster they are.

If I catch up to another bike or a group, I'll sometimes sit behind for a little while before I make it obvious how incredibly manly and awesome I am by taking off at a ludicrous pace. Thumbs Up Laughing

Outpacing people on brand spanking new litre bikes makes me feel warm and fuzzy smug.Mr. Green ...There was one time when someone on an 1150GS passed me like I was standing still and dissappeared into the distance Embarassed

I don't do a u-turn and follow people. However, if I see someone winding on a bit I will catch up to them and see if they're up for a bit of hooliganism.

I do get a bit suspicious when a bike is behind me and I follows me for a long while, even after turning off a few roads and they're still there.

Alternatively, if I'm gunning it and end up approaching another bike ahead of me, I will test them and see if they go for it first. I do have that same mentality as pendulum thinking "copper" unless they do something to break the law first then I know it's safe to activate "ride like a tit" mode.

Had this happen to me last weekend - two of us were minding our own business on god's own roads (around Hawes) when a Gixxer of indeterminate cc went past in the opposite direction. Within 2 mins it came up behind us and overtook. We followed it for a bit then let it go as it was clearly a local on his favourite road and he was fast. He was waiting for us a few miles down the road, parked up and trying to look as if he had a reason for being there.

Not sure if wanting a race or looking for rough trade....

Never turned around and followed someone but have arrived behind someone and had a bit of a play loads of times, usually if I see another biker behind me I'll naturally assume rozzer though and slow down.

Which on a slightly off topic I think is a horrible sign of the times that us bikers are being made to feel so paranoid about other bikers due to unmarked rozzers flitting about trying to do us for 5% over the limit. People just wont bother much longer I fear....

Bonus, should have got her number.

I did the U turn further down the road when i was about 5 cars apart from the other biker, but soon caught up. He had some kind of cruiser with a loud exhaust, he didnt ride fast though.
Not something ive done before but i was bored of riding in the same kind of area, but i didnt have time to ride too far either, so i just followed the other guy to see which roads i end up going on.

Mixed responses ITT, most of the negative ones are anti-cruiser closet homos like fat Bazzatard, others are just banter, and others have done the same thing before.
