carlos WTF have you done?!
I've been away from the PC and was going to post musings on whether the cycle to work really is any good anyway. You don't save a lot and you are restricted to certain retailers and £1000 limit.
You are really going to regret buying that bike.
Couple of reasons.
The groupset is sora, which is 9-speed. Everything from Tiagra (which is only the groupset one above in terms of quality) is now 10 speed. So what you have saved initially, is going to bite you in the ass when you see that 9 speed cassettes and chains are rare as rocking horse s*** and although you will be able to buy them for years to come, you won't find good deals on them.
£700 on interest free finance would have bought you a bike at this time of the year which is worth upwards of £1000. Probably full carbon frame and Tiagra/105 mix.
Ribble Cycles customer services are notoriously shocking.
I have to say it, but you've been sold on pretty colours and a suspect cycletowork scheme.
On the cycletowork scheme. I was looking to buy a bike that was worth £1000. Once I had done all the calculations, it was going to cost me about £750. Good saving you would think. 3 months later at the end of the year (i.e this time of year) it was reduced to £731. Catch my drift?
Listen, the frame isn't bad. So you have a good platform. But it is going to cost you upwards of £300 (a compatible set of STI shifters will cost you at least £120 alone) to get that upgraded to 10 or 11 speed in the future. This is why I think you'll look back at this purchase and wonder whether you have made it too quickly.
P.S Ribble are mis-selling as the R540 pedals as they are not 105. The 105 equivalent pedals are, funnily enough 105 5700's.

Phew. Good decision. Enjoy your new ride!
I've never had to use the customer services, but they have a pretty poor reputation, maybe they are addressing it.
I buy lots of componentry from them as they are pretty unbeatable on price. ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. My new other-other ride that I bought on Saturday, a 1980 Viscount KP Crisps team replica;
10 speed, hand made in England steel frame, Shimano brakes and levers.
had it serviced and two new tyres (not pictured) as various bits were loose (including rear wheel as i found out 17 miles into a 26 mile ride on sunday)
total costs;
£60 for the bike
£30 for the service
£20 for the tyres
meaning that by mondeo man's suppositions, I'm only £2 worse than him ____________________ "intelligent inattention is preferable to unintelligent tinkering"

But you paid for a service - NOOB

True but as the last bike I had was a shambles, so I thought it was better to pay for a service which included all this;
check and adjust gears, brakes, bearings, bottom bracket, true wheels, tighten all nuts and bolts, full relube
to set it up well, before my bodgery comes in and knacks it up. Have already bodged one part, I lost one of the washers for the 2 way lever and the only way to replace it is to by a new set of levers, I bodged two star washers (removed two teeth from each) to replace the missing plastic. ____________________ "intelligent inattention is preferable to unintelligent tinkering"
