I've never really bothered with storage on my bike. I used to occasionally put a bottle of coke under the seat of my Hyo but haven't really thought about it since I got the monster.
However I'm now motoring in Europe and they love to see your papers over here, so I thought I'd take a look see if there was any.
I obviously started by removing the seat. Unfortunately the locking mechanism had seized, but 20mins of waggling and sticking various bits of metal in as a lever and it popped off:

Clearly no decent storage under the seat though. But what's this? a little bolt covering a flap.

Upstairs I run to get a screw driver, and ooh what's that? a little Ducati pouch, doesn't look like it's ever been touched by a greasy human hand before. Oooh the excitement...

Oh, it's the screwdriver I needed 5 mins ago to get into the little flap in the first place. I've got one of those already! You teasing little Italians, why does everything need to be like a puzzle from the Da Vinci code?

That was my first thought, but a wing nut wouldn't have enough clearance against the frame. I'll manage to sort that bit somehow, I was just more amused at keeping a screwdriver under a screwed shut flap. ____________________ current: ducati monster 750

My Belgarda TZR used to have a lockable box in the back of the tail fairing.
I say lockable, cos you could pull it open if you tried hard enough.
Damn handy for keeping the emergency toolkit, porn mag, 2T oil and stash of spark plugs though.

It's not just the italians, the toolkit on a cbr600rr is behind the right hand fairing panel, which you need a screwdriver to remove two screws and ideally a 5mm allen key to get to . Everytime i look at it i have a little chuckle to myself ____________________ 04 NSR 125(sold) ---- 03 CBR 600rr(sold) ----90 pan euro ST1100 ' ' ----02 CG 125
